# A proposal is requested, but the decision-maker is unknown All stories are fictional. They do not describe specific people, companies or projects. Any resemblance is coincidental. A friendly manager asks for a detailed quotation and says the team is keen. Nobody has explained who will authorize the investment or how alternatives will be compared. ## Where we could start I would start by reviewing what is currently known, what the customer has actually said, and what remains an assumption. We could then select one useful qualification or discovery question before proposing more work. ## What you would have A concise situation brief with facts, assumptions, questions and a possible next step. ## Participants The current customer contact, the purchasing or budget owner where known, and the person preparing the proposal. ## Roles and decisions The buyer owns the approval process. I help clarify missing evidence and prepare appropriate questions. ## Factual experience, separate from the fictional story [The approver is known, but not involved](https://apiperson.com/sales/sales-qualify-authority/known/) [Authority is still an assumption](https://apiperson.com/sales/sales-qualify-authority/unknown/) [Book a 30-minute call](https://calendar.app.google/4FrxQkHkAZ32PkzA9) mailto:pavel@apiperson.com
